Education
A Better Way provides education to victims of domestic abuse. When victims approach the prosecutor’s office in an attempt to have charges dropped, they are referred to our education program.
We provide ten hours of education including support group, individual discussion sessions, videos and reading materials. When the ten hours are completed, documentation is forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. At that time, the prosecutor will give consideration to dropping the charges, however there is no guarantee that charges will be dropped. It is hoped that the education received will impact the victim and lead her away from the abusive situation.
